I Love Vinyl Radio, Episode 16 with Carol C of Si*Sé

Brand new ILV Radio show up with special guest  Carol C of Si*Sé .  Brand new to you, at least.  We recorded this one back in November of 2013, so some of the stuff we are talking about makes no sense.  Cut us a little slack while we catch up to present.  We're sure you'll figure it all out.  In this show, topics discussed include (not surprisingly, perhaps): upcoming events that took place in the past, how ladies are made, Oran "Juice" Jones monologues, the303 at Louie & Chan (which is open, which you should already know if you have been paying attention... see Cousin Cousin post ), Detroit royalty, the Giant Step party in the 90s, playing the spoons, and of course, line dancing to Kraftwerk. Shiny Happy People, Oberlin Edition

We had an amazing time at Oberlin College in Ohio, where we delivered a series of workshops and guest lectures over the course of a weekend, culminating in a signature all-vinyl dance party featuring special guest DJ Spinna. The talented photographer and videographer Nabil Rahman came along for the ride to document the adventure. A video is forthcoming. In between shooting our every move, he managed to snap these beauties (the pictures, of course!).

I Love Vinyl Radio, Episode 7 with Alex From Tokyo

Episode 7 of I Love Vinyl Radio is now up! This time around it was our distinct pleasure to have Alex From Tokyo in the studio with us. He was joined by Scribe, Amir, The Twilite Tone, OP!, Jon Oliver and Shawn Dub. We shared some great music with each other and had a lot of fun. Humor level: adolescent. Intimate knowledge of geography, demographics, and cultural sensitivity was displayed. We practiced our Japanese as well as our French (some of which we begged your pardon for). And Tone praised Swedish pornography in a way that only he could. We laughed, we cried, and at the end of it all, we realized that we are all Japanese.

I Love Vinyl Radio, Episode 6 with Justin Strauss

I Love Vinyl Radio is back with another legendary guest, dj/producer (and all around super nice person) Justin Strauss! He stopped by to play a few records with us and chat about nepotism, bribery, the unlikelihood of bedroom producers getting surprise visits from Luther Vandross, David Bowie's glam rock defection, how NYC club luminaries Francois K. and Larry Levan changed his life, and releasing over 200 remixes, among other not-at-all impressive details. We mainly listened with our mouths hanging open, and sometimes we made sounds that we thought were questions. All in all, we learned a lot and had a great time.

I Love Vinyl Radio, Episode 5 with Sal P (Liquid Liquid)

I Love Vinyl Radio is back and proud to present Episode 5, featuring special guest Salvatore Principato aka Sal P of Liquid Liquid (the guy smiling behind the big red dot) who came through to kick it and play a very far-reaching (to put it mildly) selection of great soul-stirring tunes. This episode spans the gamut, bringing to life something Sal says during the show about making music for the love of it, not to fit into a particular category. We are with you, Sal! Big thanks for sharing the music (paired with an assortment of delicious craft brews, expertly selected by Shawn Dub) with us. Actually, given the relationship between alcohol and pretty much everything else, the only thing about the episode we are 100% sure about is that the beer was good... Gurgle gurgle. Now press play on Sal's face, and let's go! Follow Sal on his Tumblr , Soundcloud , and his vegan cooking podcast, Singing With My Mouth Full

I Love Vinyl Radio, Episode 4

I Love Vinyl Radio, Episode 4 by I Love Vinyl on Mixcloud Your favourite radio programme (the Brits just now how to spell the fuck out of a word sometimes) is back! And this time it's personal... Our own djs Scribe and Jon Oliver, plus Shawn Dub aka "Black Alert" are back to amuse and delight. In this week's episode, the boys embark on another nutty globe trotting escapade, or they just play records and talk shit... You'll have to listen to find out which! (it's the second one). Listen responsibly.

I Love Vinyl Radio, Episode 3

I Love Vinyl Radio, Episode 3 by I Love Vinyl on Mixcloud I Love Vinyl Radio is back with an all-new Episode! This time Scribe, Jon Oliver, and Shawn Dub played the tunes, stumbled over their words, caused uncomfortable silences, told bald-faced lies, and had FUN! Hope you enjoy listening as much as we did making it. Follow us on mixcloud , and leave us a like or a gas face. thanks!

Here We Go Now x Scribe

Image
I Love Vinyl founder and head honcho Ben Goldfarb aka DJ Scribe was recently featured on the prestigious Here We Go Now blog, with a set of suitably honcho-esque portraits by `photographer Gerald Forster , and a brand new, all-vinyl, mix for your streaming pleasure. It's so good, you don't even have to have a face-engulfing beard to like it. Enjoy!

I Love Vinyl Radio, Episode 2

I Love Vinyl Radio, Episode #2 by I Love Vinyl on Mixcloud I Love Vinyl Radio is back with Episode 2! This time The Twilite Tone (freshly back from the Grammy's red carpet), Jon Oliver, and Scribe played the tunes, displayed bad microphone technique, cursed a lot, and made false statements about the music they were playing. Just another day at the office. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did making it for you! If you do, follow us on mixcloud , and leave us a like or a comment!
