Our own DJ Scribe will be stepping in for an ill Cosmo Baker (feel better!) and throwing down two all-vinyl sets tonight at the monthly CHURCH party at Drom tonight with Mark de Clive-Lowe's all-star live band, feat. vocalist Nia Andrews, MC John Robinson, and special guest Miguel Atwood-Ferguson of Suite for Ma Dukes fame.

Our very own resident virtuoso dj and host extraordinaire The Twilite Tone hails from the Windy City. If you've been to an I Love Vinyl party, or listened to one of the mixes , you already know this because he always shouts out his hometown. Turns out he's a part of that city's early house music history too, as this rare track, dug up by Gene Hunt for a new compilation on Rush Hour, proves. If you dig it, there's a lot more Twilite music out there, from production on albums by Hip-Hop artist Common (or Common Sense, as he was known when Tone, himself known as Ynot?, first worked with him), to recent releases as Great Weekend and The Twilite Tone . Our very own The Twilite Tone (in the mix and on the microphone) will be joining N'Dea Davenport (of Brand New Heavies fame, of course) and soulful keyboard wizard Mark De Clive-Lowe at his monthly residency, Church, at DROM this Friday.
